So it begins...

As I sit down and venture into my first post on any type of blog related forum it hits me. Each day I have to sift through all the thoughts that go into my mind and present a blog that not only makes sense, but anyone can read it...that's some scary shit. However, after I calm my nerves by coming to a realization that only professor cooperman and my mother will be reading what I write, I figure the best way to go about this blogging situation is to start from the beginning.

It all began last Thursday. Bell and his parents picked me up at my house roughly around 1 to catch a 5 o'clock flight out of Newark. After a 7 hour flight to Amsterdam, a 4 hour layover, and another 2 hour flight, we finally arrived in Florence on Friday. Upon arrival Bell and I met up with the rest of the group which included 10 others and a representative from CET (the program that sponsors this trip) named Randall. After spending one night in a hotel and a group dinner at a pizzeria that Randall proposed, we settled into our apartment the next day (Saturday afternoon). If you've ever watched the Real World, picture our apartment as the Real World Florence, but instead of six or seven people under one roof, we have twelve. With that comes a lot of drama. So i'll do my best to update everyone on the interesting things that go on in the apartment. So far there's been a couple minor quarrels in the apartment, and one group meeting, but besides that I really have nothing to complain about.

Now, onto the educational aspect of the trip. Contrary to popular belief, my main reasoning for coming to Florence wasn't so I can get drunk and possibly hook up with a local bella (but that'd be nice). My main reason for coming to Florence was that I believe the smartest, and most successful people in life are those who have experienced. The reason I believe this is because the more one has experienced, the more one has to draw from when encountered with any challenge in life. So by studying a religion (Judiasm) and living in a society that i'm not accustomed to, I feel that I'll be able to attain a lot of beneficial insight that will ultimately help me achieve my main goal in life. (trying to give my reader some incentive to continue through this blog, i'll refrain from stating my goal and hope the reader will realize it by the end of this trip.)

This first post is to see how fast the comments are posting to your site. I already lost one.

Tisk, tisk, Nicky; watch your language. These blogs are for posterity. This was just the very best of ideas. Maybe Adam could use Flickr for his pictures and you could link to them so that we can all see what you're writing about.
